Ian has known Paul for about 40 years, since their days as school mates at Christ’s Hospital in Horsham. After leaving CH, Ian went off to London to train as a doctor before joining the Army where he spent the next 20 years in uniform as an Army medic, including several years as a Consultant at the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre, Headley Court. Along the way, he got into sports medicine and since leaving the Army in 2005 has continued to work in this field. Ian has been fortunate & privileged enough to have worked with some exceptional sporting teams – the British Olympic team (at 5 Olympic Games & as Chief Medical Officer to Team GB at the last 3, including London 2012), Team England at 2 Commonwealth Games, Chelsea FC for 3 seasons, the GB Davis Cup tennis team & a few others. He also helps look after the tennis players at Wimbledon & the O2 Arena each year and the students at the Royal Ballet School. There’s more about Ian’s medical background & what he does here

Ian’s been married to Susan for nearly 28 years and they have 3 children (all of whom have now left home!). Here’s the family:
